Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I know You have already come. I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Prayers before Holy Communion:
Act of Hope
O My God, relying on Your almighty power and infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help of Your grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.
Act of Love
O My God, I love You above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of You. I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
Act of Contrition
Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You, and I detest all my sins because of Your just punishments, but most of all because they offended You, my God, Who are all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the unnecessary occasions of sin. Amen.
Act of Desire
Jesus, my God and my all, my soul longs for You. My heart yearns to receive You in Holy Communion. Come, Bread of heaven and Food of angels, to nourish my soul and to rejoice my heart. Come, most lovable Friend of my soul, to inflame me with such love that I may never again be separated from You.
Prayers after Holy Communion:
Act of Faith
O My God, I firmly believe that You are the one God in three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; I believe that Your Divine Son become Man, died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches because You have revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
Act of Adoration
With deepest humility, I adore You, my Lord and God; You have made my soul Your dwelling place. I adore You as my Creator from Whose hands I came and with Whom I long to be happy forever.
Act of Love
O My God, I love You above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of You. I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
Act of Thanksgiving
From the depths of my heart I thank You, dear Lord, for Your infinite kindness in coming to me. How good You are to me! With Your most holy Mother and all the angels, I praise Your mercy and generosity toward me, a poor sinner. I thank You for nourishing my soul with Your Sacred Body and Precious Blood. I will try to show my gratitude to You in the Sacrament of Your love, by obedience to Your holy commandments, by fidelity to my duties, by kindness to my neighbor and by an earnest endeavor to become like You in my daily conduct.
Prayer to Christ the King
O Christ Jesus, I acknowledge You as King of the universe. All that has been created has been made for You. Exercise upon me all Your rights. I renew my baptismal promises, renouncing Satan and all his works and pomps. I promise to live a good Christian life and to be diligent in furthering the interests and teachings of Almighty God and Your Church.
Prayer to Our Redeemer
Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Blood of Christ, motivate me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within Your wounds hide me. Suffer me not to be separated from You. From the malignant enemy, defend me. At the hour of death, call me, and bid me come to You, that with Your saints I may praise You forever and ever.
Prayer to Jesus Christ Crucified
BEHOLD, O kind and most sweet Jesus, I cast myself upon my knees in Your sight, and with the most fervent desire of my soul I pray and beseech You that You would impress upon my heart lively sentiments of Faith, Hope, and Charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm desire of amendment, while with deep affection and grief of soul I ponder within myself and mentally contemplate Your five most precious wounds; having before my eyes that which David spoke in prophecy of You, O good Jesus: They have pierced my hands and feet; they have numbered all my bones.
